Vote for the Hugo Awards

I didn't win a Nebula or Locus for MACHINEHOOD, but I'm so grateful and honored that it was a finalist for both awards. What an incredible year it's already been, and the Hugo and Ignyte Awards are still to come!

Would you like to vote for the Hugo Awards? Voting is open to anyone who buys a membership to Chicon 8 , this year's World Science Fiction Convention. Register soon and vote by August 11! I'm up for two categories this year: Best Editor, Short Form, and Best Semiprozine, both for the work I've done at Escape Pod. This will be my final year of eligibility now that I've retired from the podcast. Memberships start at $75 for a supporting/voting level, and go up from there if you'd like to attend in person. It's still a risky time for big gatherings due to the persistence of Covid, but there will be virtual programming if you'd like to participate from the safety of your home.

I'm planning to brave end-of-summer travel and attend the Hugo Awards Ceremony in person at Chicon. Win or lose, I'll be dressed up and hanging out with the Escape Pod crew. After 2.5 years of pandemic separation, I'm excited to see them again!

This will be your last chance to get me a Hugo Award for the work I've done at Escape Pod, but just as importantly (if not more so!), voting for the Hugos gives you an opportunity to make your voice heard in the world of science fiction & fantasy.
