Long Covid, Disability, and Tough Decisions

Ten months have passed since I first got sick, eight since my first big relapse. My doctor handed me some pamphlets on ME/CFS, pacing, and managing my energy envelope. The ultimate diagnosis: the syndrome often called "Long Covid." This is no longer an illness. It's not transient. It's not a thing that gradually resolves over time. It's a disability, with periods of remission and relapse, that could last for the rest of my life.

I am so pleased to announce that my debut novel, Machinehood, has been selected for the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Science Fiction of the year! Voting is open to anyone as long as they set up a Goodreads account.

I’m also very happy to announce my first time as a panelist for San Diego Comic Con. This year, they’re doing a lighter “Special Edition” version, but I still hope to see many people there, geeking out over all things genre.
