On April 22 & 23, the LA Times Festival of Books returns once again to the campus of USC. I’ll be there for the first time as a panelist - very exciting - on Sunday, April 23, at 1pm to discuss science fiction and alternate worlds. The panel will be followed by a book signing. If you’re in the Southern California area, I hope you can join in the fun.
Next month, I’ll be at the Nebula Conference in Anaheim from May 12-14. Attendance at the conference is open to anyone, but it’s geared at writers. It’s usually only a few hundred people, so I especially encourage newer authors who can afford it to come. There will be an online component as well as in person this year. I’m really looking forward to attending in person after several years of pandemic induced virtuality. I will, of course, be at the Nebula Awards Ceremony as a nominee for my story, “Two Hands, Wrapped in Gold.” There’s usually a Mass Autographing session that’s free and open to the public, and if that happens, you’ll find me there as well.
The following weekend, on Saturday, May 20, I’m delighted to be returning to the Caltech campus. I’ll be at Beckman Auditorium in Pasadena, at 7pm, to help launch the first ever anthology from TechLit, a group of writers affiliated with Caltech and JPL.
